Project Overview
eGen is an electric scooter and moped provider looking to strengthen its digital presence through a responsive eCommerce experience. Over 3 weeks, the team designed desktop and mobile journeys aimed at improving conversion and expressing a more distinctive brand identity.
The design direction focused on communicating eGen as a sustainable, reliable, and affordable transport alternative.
I contributed as a UI Designer, working closely with UX on the visual direction and final interface design.
Role: UI Designer
Timeline: 3 weeks
Tools: Adobe XD, Zoom, Google Analytics, Google Forms
The Problem
The challenge was to design an eCommerce experience for a product category that may have felt unfamiliar to many users.
People needed to understand different vehicle options, compare them confidently, and navigate payment-related information without feeling overwhelmed, especially on mobile.
Within a short timeframe, the interface also needed to feel cohesive enough to support both brand trust and future development.
What I changed
I focused on shaping the final landing page and key supporting features to make the browsing experience more actionable and easier to navigate.
This included integrated support touchpoints and the “Perfect Ride” guided flow, designed to help users identify the scooter or moped that best matched their needs.
Alongside this, I helped define the visual direction through moodboards, logo exploration, and final prototypes, creating a more cohesive and intuitive interface across screens.
Key decisions:
• Prioritised landing page hierarchy to support browsing without overwhelming mobile users
• Added integrated support touchpoints to reduce friction during decision-making
• Designed the Perfect Ride guided flow to help users match products to their needs more confidently
A Perfect Ride
I focused on designing the final landing page and key supporting features that made the browsing experience more actionable. This included an integrated support feature and the “Perfect Ride” section, a guided quiz designed to help users identify the scooter or moped that best matched their needs.
Why it matters
Choosing the right vehicle can feel overwhelming, especially for users who are new to electric transport. The “Perfect Ride” flow helped break that decision into simpler steps, making the experience feel more supportive and personalised while guiding users toward a product with more confidence.

UI Research and final prototype
Validation
As the product did not launch, success was evaluated through design quality and alignment rather than post-launch metrics. I validated the work by:
• ensuring the UI direction was consistent across key screens
• using prototypes to make flows understandable and test the overall coherence of the experience
• creating a visual system strong enough to support stakeholder discussion and future iteration
Final thoughts
The main challenge was to reorganise content around the user’s core journey, especially on mobile. We reconsidered image sizing, icon usage, and the presentation of payment information to make the eCommerce flow feel clear without becoming overwhelming. This helped shape a more balanced and accessible interface, where content was prioritised to support understanding and decision-making.
